ReadBooksAloud turns the things you'd rather hear than read — PDFs, ebooks, long articles, or text you paste in yourself — into clear spoken audio using natural text-to-speech voices. Import a file, hit play, and listen with proper playback controls while you commute, cook, or rest your eyes.

What it does

Reads your own content — import PDFs and documents, or paste in any text.
Natural TTS voices with adjustable speed and a real player (play, pause, skip, scrub).
On-device text recognition pulls readable text out of scanned pages and images.
A personal library that remembers what you imported and where you left off.

Status: Built — a native mobile app, not yet released on the App Store or Google Play. It relies on on-device text-to-speech, file import, and local storage, so it runs on a phone rather than in a browser. Source lives in a private GitHub repository.
